T.D.D. VIDEO: NEW YEAR'S EVE COUNTDOWN | READY...

As it seems to happen too quickly every year, the holidays are upon us again and we are making our "Best Of" lists and next year's "Resolutions" lists. We are so excited to be wrapping up 2015 by sharing some fun new content. Recently we had the pleasure of being connected with MeDusa and are thrilled to show off a couple of their beautiful bags in the next few posts. We have been working on a video series aiming to capture the magic and excitement that surrounds New Year's Eve, or often any big night out around the holidays. New Year's Eve in particular carries the anticipation of a culmination and a start all in one—we say a determined so long to the year we are leaving behind and extend a spirited welcome to the one just beginning. The holidays seem to bring out more smiles and hugs, rekindle lost hope, encourage a little extra kindness, and suddenly we start to see and feel more love everywhere. Even if just for an evening, or for a moment, feeling loved and happy can make a world a of difference. Even though this season can also bring gift shopping headaches and holiday travel stress, ultimately we will remember the laughs and smiles and warm, fuzzy feelings inside. So why not celebrate and highlight this wonderful time of year :)

The boho chic trend has stuck around for a while now and continues to adapt to trends that come and go—we all love a beautifully detailed Free People dress or darling Anthropologie print blouse. Wearing bohemian-, free spirit-inspired pieces allows us to indulge in the non-conformist wanderer lingering in all of us. But sometimes boho can overwhelm an outfit and feel too busy and scattered. Often all it takes is a hint of boho combined with a contrasting classic and simple style element—like the tried and true solid navy—to give the look the perfect balance between relaxed and bold.

Pairing a classic, strong color like navy with the detail of elaborate embroidery and fine lace makes this dress versatile and feel like it will be appropriate and flattering in so many settings. The dress was originally sought out as a bridesmaid's dress, but the purchase was a happy investment (unlike man bridesmaid's dress purchases) as it was clear this darling frock would be worn more than few times again after the wedding.

The three-quarter length sleeves and tea-length skirt hem evoke a level of modesty in the outfit, but without making it feel too conservative as the revealing mesh details add a hint of intrigue. Simple accessories complete Jen's look here: trusted felt hat, go-to black platform pumps, vintage bracelet and earrings... ready for lunch with friends or a family member's backyard birthday celebration :)

While L.A. still hasn't cooled down to preferred fall temperatures, a few mornings have been delightfully cloudy and chilly enough to cozy up with wool blends and hot beverages. There is something comforting and relaxing about cool weather on the outside and being warm and toasty on the inside :) This beautiful Pendleton Woolen Mills blanket was a thoughtful gift that is already seeing lots of love at its new home on the couch. T.D.D. VIDEO: But First, Iced Coffee | Happy National Coffee Day!

Here in Los Angeles the temperatures are still soaring despite the technical onset of the fall season. So, for now, our minds are still set on iced coffee as the coffee bean beverage that's satisfying our caffeine cravings. Yes — we are coffee addicts and take great pleasure in reading and touting every article or study that is published detailing the benefits of drinking coffee regularly (and, as would only make sense, we conveniently pay no attention to the naysayers or any evidence to the contrary). A good cup of coffee is that reliable little moment of happiness and fulfillment each day. When often so little is actually in our control and we can be overwhelmed with the complexities, surprises, and challenges that life tosses our way, there is true comfort and refuge in simple pleasures like watching the cream swirl and blend into the dark brown liquid, or inhaling the aroma of freshly ground beans, or taking a moment to just sip a cup coffee.

Mother's Day is just around the corner (this Sunday, May 10th!) and this got us thinking about the mother figures in our lives, and what they might have been like as a teen or twenty-something. What did they wear? Where did they hang out? What inspired them? We thought a fun way to tie-in celebrating mamas everywhere would be digging into their long-unworn chest of clothes in storage somewhere, giving vintage a much more personal touch than that perfectly worn-in 80s concert t-shirt you found at the Melrose Trading Post.

Vintage can be such a fun way to find original items and mix up your look with a style accent that will be truly unique – practically no chance of accidentally outfit-twinning with someone (#awkward). But even better, there have been some seriously awesome fashion trends over the decades that are too good to let lie in the past. It's fun to imagine what your mom might have worn as a college student hanging out on campus, or as a young adult hitting the road with friends for a road trip. Each truly vintage item carries a long story with it and when you reimagine it and show it off in an outfit today you get to be part of that story too.
